Demix Béton Drummondville participated in an innovative project to install bat roosts on its silos and buildings. With the maintenance of wooded areas or through their destruction, the natural habitat of these mammals is diminishing. In order to avoid the disappearance of this species, the group GARAF, the Fauna Foundation of Quebec, the school Jean-Raimbault and the Biodome of Montreal propose integrating artificial roots for the bats.

The President’s Awards for OH&S Excellence have been launched in 2009, and since then, dozens of projects are submitted each year. A total of 62 projects were submitted for consideration for the 2012 President’s Awards for OH&S Excellence, all of them excellent examples of the grassroots initiatives implemented across the company. The winning projects of the 2012 President’s Awards for OH&S Excellence were presented in Montreal at an event held, Wednesday, May 22nd.
