A year ago, CRH Canada’s Demix division in Quebec, entered into a partnership agreement for the construction and operation of a soil treatment centre at the Laval quarry site. One year after, things are looking great !
Built on the site of the Laval quarry, this new treatment centre will allow Demix to offer its clients the possibility of working with Englobe in the management of their soils, while continuing to get aggregates from the quarry. In addition, while respecting our quality standards, the soils from the Englobe treatment centre will be received in the quarry.
The opening of Englobe's treatment centre in our Laval facilities is a concrete example of what we can do to help the construction industry manage soil responsibly while contributing to the rehabilitation of our quarry for our communities,” explains Dominic Martel, General Manager, Demix Agrégats.
Englobe will be able to offer its customers more options and more convenient access to its services in the Greater Montreal area, where they already rely on facilities in the east end and L’Épiphanie (Vitaliterre).
Englobe Corporation is a Canadian leader in applied sciences, particularly in the fields of the environment, geosciences, and materials engineering. Englobe’s services are divided into three main sectors: engineering and inspection; environmental consulting and remediation, and materials management and beneficial reuse.
“This agreement is beneficial not only for Demix and Englobe but also for the industry as a whole, broadening our opportunities for contaminated soil treatment services with this first facility north of Montreal,” explained Louis Côté, General Manager, Englobe. “Together, we want to work towards finding sustainable, innovative and responsible solutions for the treatment of contaminated soils.”
