Now in its 24th year, the Canada’s Top Employers for Young People competition recognizes organizations that lead their industries in creating exceptional workplaces and programs for young people starting their careers.
The topranking organizations are featured in a highly coveted list announced by Mediacorp Canada Inc., organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, and published in The Career Directory – Canada’s longestrunning employment guide for students and recent graduates. We are proud to share that CRH Canada Group Inc. has once again been recognized, marking our second consecutive year on the list!
Investing in the next generation
With a significant portion of the workforce approaching retirement, the construction industry continues to face declining interest from younger generations entering the trades, widening the gap between the demand for skilled labour and available talent. This reality highlights the importance of programs that not only raise awareness of the trades as a viable, long-term career option, but also create opportunities for experienced employees to share their knowledge, mentor early-career talent, and support skill development from the outset. Receiving this recognition reflects our commitment to investing in the next generation and reinforcing a culture where learning, mentorship, and career growth are actively supported.
What sets CRH Canada apart
At CRH Canada, we pride ourselves in offering rewarding career development opportunities and benefits that support young professionals entering the workforce.
The strength of CRH Canada is reflected in the way we invest in people from the very start of their careers. Through paid internships and co-op placements, in-house apprenticeship and skilled trades training programs, and structured onboarding experiences, we provide early-career professionals with meaningful exposure, hands-on learning, and a clear foundation for growth. This approach is guided by a clear understanding of how early-career expectations are evolving and the importance of creating pathways that allow young professionals to grow, explore, and develop over time.
“We’ve sustained strong long-term retention, with many employees building 20, 30, 40, and even 50-plus-year careers with us.” says Steve Nadeau, Vice President, Human Resources, CRH Canada Group Inc. “What we’re seeing with the newer generations is that they want to advance quickly, with the freedom to learn across different areas. Many come with diverse educational backgrounds or interests, and they’re looking for employers who give them the room to explore a range of skills and opportunities. Our internal development frameworks support this by offering learning beyond an individual’s current role, helping employees build the foundation for a dynamic and rewarding career.”
